Hello. I’d like to take you back into time to May of 1961. I was an impressionable eight-year-old child and I heard the President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. He tried to capture our minds, even young people to try to reach into their thoughts and inspire us to profiles of courage. He said “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
We have been hearing about attacks all over the world in houses of worship. Everywhere, somebody can take away the life of somebody else. They can take away the mind of somebody, else they can make somebody live in servitude and slavery. But if we try to help others at all times and not just wait for a crisis, if we sing in harmony, if we follow our destination towards peace, we might just achieve it.
I want you to listen very carefully to what you hear in conversation and on television and in the media. I’m starting to hear invented phrases, ambiguity in words. There’s new sanitized terminology which seems to exonerate hateful and destructive behavior. It actually eliminates historical perspective.
Dissidents do not act with dissonance when prompted to sing in harmony! That’s the message of Destination Peace today: you won’t find that anywhere! We are tired of cacophony. We’re tired of empty sounds and empty phrases. Listen carefully to how people mold their words so that they can attack others. Destination Peace has a universal language and that language is to bring people together through song, music, and harmony.
I want you to look up on search engines what children’s books are about today. John Kennedy wrote Profiles of Courage. What are our children reading today, if they’re reading at all? Who is trying to capture their minds and their morality through illustrations? What are they seeing?
If it’s at all possible, have your children tune into Destination Peace, and all we’ll talk about is harmony, and not dissonance. We’ll talk about prayer, but universal prayer. We’re not going to try to make it impossible for people to come together– we’re going to make it possible for every single listener, every single person who reads our blogs, to know that Destination Peace is out there.
We want to hear from you. We want to know that you and your children and grandchildren are safe in this world and they can walk into any house of worship of any faith and walk out with greater faith. So our song today is peace. No dissonance, only harmony.
